Gol Voos

Gol is an airlines situated in Sao Paulo, Brazil. It operates a fastest growing international and domestic schedule network. The main hubs of Gol Voos are “Rio de Janeiro's Galeao International Airport”, “Sao Paulo's Congonhas Airport” and “Brasilia International Airport”. Gol has also focused at “Rio de Janeiro's Santos Dumont Airport”, “Porto Alegre's Salgado Filho International Airport”, “Sao Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport” and “Belo Horizonte International Airport”. In May-2011 according to the survey conducted by “National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil”, gol had 9.20 percent of international and 35.39 percent of domestic market share calculated in terms of people flown per kilometer. ‘Gol Voos' is a Portuguese language word which means ‘Goal-flights' in English that refers itself as “Gol Intilligent Airlines” as its slogan. On the stock exchange of New York the Gol is traded as ‘GOL Linhas-Aereas Inteligentes-S.A.'.

A Gol airline was founded in the year 2000 and it started its operations on 15 January, 2001. It is subordinate of Brazilian Grupo Aurea located at ‘Minas Gerais' state, it is the largest chain of long distance public bus service around Brazil. Constantino family owned conglomerate of Brazil ‘Grupo Aurea'. In the year 2004 Gol Voos has carried around 11,600,000 passengers and has over taken the market of air travel of Brazil by 20 percent. On 24 June, 2004 Gol airlines has launched several offers regarding stock exchange for public of Sao Paulo and New York. Its owner is now “AeroPar Participacoes” by 77percent, “American International Group” by 5.4 percent and “Venture” by 17.6 percent with staff of 5,456. As the stock price of Gol has increased, the Constantino family was made the member of billionaire list of Forbes Magazine in 2005.

The accidents which have taken place in past few years with Gol airlines are: December 20, 2003 – on this date Voos 1756 overran through the runway at the airport of Navegantes. The flight was operated by Boeing 737-700 and most amazing thing about this accident was that there were 149 passengers in the plane along with the crew and none of them died in the accident which occurred when the plane hit the wall. September 29, 2006 – on this date Voos 1907 disappeared from the radar operated by Boeing 737-800 with registration “PR-GTD”. When the flight was disappeared it was flying above central west state of “Mato Grosso”. The route of plane was from Brasilia to Manaus and “Rio de Janeiro Galeao”. After disappearing from radar it collided with business jet “Embraer Legacy 600” in the mid air, close to Matupa town at 760 kilometer from southern of Manaus. After collision the Gol airplane crashed in jungle of Amazon leaving no passengers alive from 154 of passengers and the plane has been found a day later after the crash. The business jet safely landed at airport of Cachimbo.
